HYDROTHERM MASSAGE - "For Mind Body and Spirit"

- Now at The Retreat with Kristina Banner

A deep, profoundly relaxing and beneficial massage technique, enhancing the effects of treatment into a new dimension - naturally. Experience a wonderful feeling of total revitalization, regeneration and harmony as you float on a bed of warm water. Your entire treatment is carried out while you lie face up on warm Hydrotherm water filled cushions, assisting in perfect spinal alignment and giving a wonderful floating experience! The wonderful diversity of the Hydrotherm Massage System releases the full tactile skills of a qualified massage therapist. Men and women, babies and the elderly benefit from the unique Hydrotherm experience, for mind body and spirit. Everyone can enjoy a sense of well being, pleasure and sheer indulgence.

Why is the Hydrotherm massage a new and better experience?

Mostly because of the things that you do not have to do! No need to turn over during the treatment, no face holes, no cricked necks & no arms over the edge of the couch! You remain warm and fully supported throughout the entire treatment. This significantly contributes to a feeling of relaxation, one of the main pleasures and benefits of a good massage. The relaxing warmth promotes an immediate sensation of well being, enhancing the therapeutic effects of the treatment. The gentle heat of the water helps to soothe painful areas alllowing the threapist to work more deeply with less discomfort for the client.

What exactly is Hydrotherm?

Hydrotherapy Massage - Kristina Banner, The Retreat HenfieldThe best invention in massage since the couch replaced the floor!

The entire treatment is carried out whilst you lie face up on warm water-filled Hydrotherm cushions. Whether you want a gentle and restorative massage, an invigorating and stimulating treatment to ease joint and muscle tension, specific remedial/sports massage, or reflexology, all can be effectively carried out using Hydrotherm. Pressure can be adapted to suit individual needs. I have also invested in the heat pads which enable me to continuously keep the cushions at a pleasurable 37 degrees, thus reducing water consumption & maximising your comfort.

How can you have a back massage lying on your back?

Quite simply!… I work by sliding my oiled hands between you and the warm cushions. The hydrotherm system supports your body weight. Tense and aching muscles quickly start to relax naturally from the warmth, thereby greatly enhancing the comfort and effectiveness of the treatment. All areas of the back and legs, can be easily accessed. In a much shorter space of time than with conventional massage therapy, it is possible in many cases to locate and relieve tension in specific muscles. An equally deep massage can be given using Hydrotherm as for conventional massage. Through water displacement rather than physically lifting the client, hydrotherm permits the therapist to work using the client's body weight as a source of pressure, facilitating a deeper, more holistic massage technique.
