Keeping it Local ... the Changing Face of Budgens
You may have noticed a lot of changes taking place in Budgens of late with new products hitting the shelves and various activities taking place in store.

Since Nick Ward took over as manager of Budgens in October 2006 he has made very progressive moves in interactiing with the local community and responding to consumer trends in the search for locally produced, quality products.
Not only is Budgens home to the village electronic noticeboard but it is also a designated location for one of the four defibrillators around the village.
Budgens' community involvement doesn't stop there. Budgens has been making positive moves to focus on locally produced product ranges within a 30 mile radius to bring us an ever increasing variety of products from organic beer to fresh rolled pasta.
Fresh
produce from local suppliers include:
- Bookham Cheeses and Pasta
- Muncy Mix
- Fish cakes from the Flying Fisch Company
- Smoked Salmon from Springs
- Clear and Set honey from Hassocks
- Seasonal meats and 'Grunty Porkers' sausages from V. J. Game
Careful inspection of the newly reorgainsed wine and beer counters will reveal all manor of locally-sourced and British produced specialites including:
- Carr Taylor English table wine from Hastings, a family estate producing fine English wines since 1971. Also producing Apricot, Blackcurrant and English Mead
- Award-winning organic red, white and sparkling English wines, all grown and bottled at England's oldest organic vineyard at Sedlescombe in Sussex
- Speciality bitters including Theakstons 'Old Peculiar', Ballards 'Nyewood Gold', Marstons 'Old Codger'
White Goods
For your convenience Budgens have also recently introduced a selection of white goods including electrical appliances, pots and pans, oven to tableware, serviettes, flasks, glasses and seasonal ranges.
